Those, who are keen users of CRM, know that their job in the field is strongly affected by the rapid evolution of mobile technologies. Sales reps and field technicians need to be able to access all the information at any time – no matter the device they own and use.
How great would it be if you could work with your Salesforce data on a phone and tablet, without having to worry about a horde of software and hardware requirements?

Mobile Devices & Salesforce

Salesforce is a leader in many ways. We are talking about #1 CRM and a top innovator of a decade. However, there is one thing Salesforce is not the best at: mobility.
Since 2013, Salesforce has its own mobile app. That’s 14 years less invested into mobile technologies and its constant enhancements than what we’ve put into our mobile app’s development (*Resco was born in 1999 just like Salesforce, but focused on mobility from the very beginning ). Salesforce1 mobile app is the way Salesforce lets its users to manage their data via phone and tablet.
With mobile tools for functions including sales lead management, team collaboration and reports, Salesforce1 aims to enhance customer relationship efforts for various companies.
There is just a little catch to it.

Salesforce & Usage Limitations for Mobile Workers

You can find yourself wondering how come your brand new Android phone is no longer supported on the Salesforce1 mobile app. At Resco, we believe, everyone should benefit from CRM and use its full potential – people shouldn’t worry about getting a new phone just to utilize mobile CRM.
The latest Salesforce announcement about the upcoming Winter’17 update, comes with noticeable news about their mobile solution that may affect thousands of users. Cutting down on device support means many mobile devices will be left out in the cold.
To Resco, Mobile CRM has always been the focal point. All the company’s efforts, resources & focus have been invested into a mobile-only CRM. Hence, we want to make sure our app runs on devices you use seamlessly, whether connected to Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics or any other CRM solution.

If you want to continue working with Salesforce on your phone or tablet, go for a solution that will work on any device with whatever operating system. Now, before doing so, feel free to scroll through the below lists to help you decide:
List of  device OS requirements for Salesforce1:

  • iOS 9.2 or later
  • Android 4.4 or later

List of devices NO LONGER supporting Salesforce1:

  • all Android phones except: the Samsung Galaxy S5, S6, S7; Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Google Nexus 5S, Google Nexus 6P
  • all Android tablets, except: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Samsung Tab A 9.7
  • iPhone 5, 5C; iPad Mini 2, Mini 3, iPad 4
  • all Windows devices

List of platforms Resco Mobile CRM supports:

  • iOS 6 +
  • Android Phones & Tablet 3 +
  • Windows Vista, 7, RT, 8, 8.1 & 10
  • Windows 10 Mobile

Any device running on one of these operating systems will work

All three platforms matter (even Windows)

Numerous software developers have had issues to develop solutions that would work fine across multiple devices with specific operating system versions and browsers. Therefore, they won’t support older versions today. However, we at Resco encourage the idea of having a choice of various platforms.
Especially considering there is still a noteworthy number of businesses on Windows devices, who should not be left out. The most considerable oversight of Salesforce1 is its lack of support for Windows devices.
