Detailed overview of features and capabilities from Resco Inspections’ Spring Update 2019:

Resco Inspections app

New Resco Inspections app – the mobile application has been redesigned to provide more clear-cut, streamlined user experience to the staff performing inspections in the field; including a new color scheme, enhanced forms, simplified list views; and re-worked business logic

Automatic report – the app enables users to generate an automatic mobile report from questionnaires, with all the questions and answers, without the need of an administrator to create such report in Resco’s Report Designer; the report output available in HTML, PDF, Word, or Excel file format enables users to immediately share the completed questionnaire with clients, partners, or any other stakeholders

Complete, Complete with report, Cancel actions – new actions have been added to the “Hamburger” button in the top right corner of questionnaire forms; “Complete” enables to finish the questionnaire form so the answers cannot be modified afterwards; “Complete with report” executes the same action as “Complete”, but also generates a mobile report from the questionnaire; “Cancel” enables to cancel the questionnaire, however a record containing the questionnaire is created, so the back office knows that it has been started and then cancelled
App_NewButtons
Save button on questionnaire – a save button has been added to the header of questionnaire forms in the Resco Inspections app; it enables to save the questionnaire and come back to it later to make further changes

App customization

New Resco Inspections app default project – the mobile project of the redesigned Resco Inspections app is available in Woodford; system admins don’t need to start from scratch when creating customized inspection app but can use Resco’s default project as their stepping stone

Designer

Storage optimization with JSON – data driven architecture of questionnaires allows great flexibility without the need to create metadata on the backend system; however, representing each question and answer as a record could be inefficient when handling extensive questionnaires with hundreds of questions; therefore when creating a questionnaire in the Designer, users can choose to store all answers in one JSON object, or even a compressed JSON object; it streamlines the synchronization process and data storage, though it makes integrating with BI and reporting tools more challenging

Snippets – for simpler re-using of different questionnaire elements, the Designer now includes the possibility to create snippets; a snippet may contain a question, question group, or any combination of the two (e.g. 3 questions and 2 question groups), including related rules; snippets may be created from scratch or by selecting questions and question groups from an existing questionnaire and copying them into the Snippets Library; using snippets cuts down on time and effort needed to repeatedly create the same functionality

Lookup filtering – if a question utilizes a lookup (e.g. select a country for a customer account), the user can set up a lookup filter to specify the options which will be available when answering the question (e.g. only countries from a certain region will be shown)

“Show on report” property – when designing a questionnaire, users can choose whether a question will be visible in the automatic mobile report that can be generated by the field staff using the Resco Inspections app; default state is true (show on automatic report)

Questionnaire rules

Save and SaveAfter method – the Save method enables to create, update and save entity records directly from questionnaire rules; Save After ensures that the primary entity (Questionnaire) is saved first; this can be used for creating a new Appointment once a Questionnaire has been completed, to follow up on that Questionnaire a month later
Open method – enables to open the entity form for a record or lookup question; so e.g. a Contact form can be opened from a Questionnaire form
MessageBox method – enables to show the user a menu with different options to choose from; the user selects one and this option is then used further within the rule; for example, the user can be asked to confirm changing the status of a record (“Do you really want to complete this Questionnaire? Yes / No”) or can be presented with a list of actions to choose from (“What do you want to do with this Questionnaire? Save / Complete / Cancel”)

Scheduler

Scheduler for Microsoft Dynamics 365 – team leads and managers can utilize drag-&-drop scheduling of inspections for their staff directly from their Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or CRM 2013, 2015, 2016), as Resco’s Scheduler is now incorporated directly into the system and available in the Inspections section.

Analyst

Automatic Dashboard for Microsoft Dynamics 365 – data collected with the Resco Inspections app can be analyzed using standard analytics tools available in the user’s backend (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Resco Cloud, or other), but for immediate quick analysis Resco provides Automatic Dashboard; now available also from Dynamics 365 (or CRM 2013, 2015, 2016), for each Questionnaire template the dashboard offers a clear-cut overview of completed questionnaires and collected data; without any additional setup, Automatic Dashboard allows direct insight into completed inspections, enabling to filter the data based on users, dates, questions and numerous additional options
