Why don’t Woodford notifications contain the name of the user?

If you have received a notification on automatic license assignment from mobilecrm@resco.net, you might have wondered why it does not include the user’s name (only the User ID).

It looks something like this (without the yellow frames – I added those).

One of our customers asked us: “Why isn’t there a User Name of the person receiving the new license?

Simply because we don’t need this information in order to make the app work properly and hence we don’t want to hold onto this info as a security precaution. (Why should we know the names of your users?)

Plus, the User ID is a unique identification, whereas the User Name might not be.

And that’s all there is to it.
